Bymarka


Bymarka er eit skogområde vest for Trondheim. Med ei flatevidd på 80 km² er ho den største og samstundes den mest populære utfartsstaden i Trondheim. Bymarka ligg på Byneshalvøya, og er hovudsakleg samansett av Trondheim bymark, Leinstrandmarka og Bynesmarka.


Området har eit svært variert turterreng – frå tette granskogar via vekslande skog- og myrterreng til snaufjell over tregrensa (om lag 450 moh).

Historie |


Olav Tryggvason gav Bymarka i gåve til innbyggjarane i Trondheim i år 997.


Fredrik von der Lippe, tidlegare sjef for Trondheim Kommuneskogar, lanserte dette slagordet for friluftsbruken av Bymarka: «Her er du alltid velkommen når ingen kan sjå at du har vore der!».
