Gradlon


Gradlon (330-405, var ein konge av Cornouaille i keltisk tid. Segna seier han og rådde for delar av Bretagne. Han skal ha vore sonen til kong Conan Meriadec. Etter segna skal han å ha bela til ei trollkvinne som var kalla Malgven. Saman vann dei makt i Cornouaille. I Bretagne er han oftast kalla Graelen Meur (Gradlon den store).


Gradlon og Malgven fekk ei dotter, Dahud. Somme variantar av segna seier dronninga døydde i barnseng. Dahud kom seinare til å spela ei rolle i segna om Ys, der ho vart svelgd av havet og omgjort til ei havfrue eller ein bretonsk morgen.


Historisk har det vore fleire kongar med namnet Gradlon. Ein av dei er kjend frå Landevennec i Bretagne. Desse er datert noko seinare enn årstala ovanfor.


Gradlon spelar ei rolle i teikneserien Bran Ruz.
