Binghamton i New York


Binghamton er ein by i den amerikanske delstaten New York i USA med eit areal på 28,6 kvadratkilometer og ein befolkning på ca 48 000 innbyggarar (2003). Byen ligg ca 90 km sør for Syracuse ca 10 km nord for grensa til delstaten Pennsylvania.


Binghamton er fylkeshovudstad i Broome County.


Viktige bedrifter i byen er IBM, Lockheed-Martin, BAE Systems og L-3 Communications – alle innan høgteknologisektoren.


State University of New York har ein campus i Binghamton; det opererer relativt sjølvestendig og er best kjend under namnet Bingham University.


Greater Binghamton Airport er flyplass for byen.


Byen er kjend for «The Binghamton burning», eit bokbål som vart stelt i stand ved St. Patrick's School den 10. desember 1948.
