Poprock (òg skrive pop/rock[4][5]) er rock med større vekt på profesjonell låtskriving og innspelingshandverket og mindre vekt på haldning.[1] Stilen oppstod i 1950-åra som eit alternativt til rock and roll, tidleg poprock var påverka av rock and roll-rytmen, arrangementa og stilen (og stundom doo-wop).[1] Stilen kan reknast som ein eigen sjanger, og ikkje berre musikk som overlappar med pop og rock.[4] Nedsetjande kommentarar om poprock legg ofte vekt på at det er glatt, kommersielt og mindre mindre autentisk enn rock.[6]
