Nasjonalflagg

Nasjonalflagg er flagg som symboliserer ein stat og som blir brukt av det sivile samfunnet. Dei kan også brukast av statlege og sjømilitære styresmakter, men nokre land har eigne flagg til desse føremåla. Alle nasjonar i verda har sitt eige, unike flagg. Dei fleste flagg er rektangulære, men det finst også andre utformingar.


Nasjonalflagg blir brukte til å ofte heiste ved offentlege bygg, men kan også heisast av private og brukast som pynt eller supporterutstyr. Samstundes finst det ulike reglar rundt bruken av desse flagga. Til dømes kan ein berre tillata heising på flaggdagar og/eller av statlege representantar.


I tillegg til einskildstatar kan også grupper som reknar seg som nasjonar men som ikkje har eigen stat kan også ha flagg ein reknar som nasjonalflagg, til dømes Skottland, samane og palestinarane.
