Ytre London


Ytre London (engelsk Outer London) er eit namn på den delen av Stor-London som ligg utanfor den gamle London by, eller indre London. Dei tjue bydelane i ytre London blei innlemma i Stor-London i 1965, og høyrte tidlegare til andre grevskap (counties). Unntaket er North Woolwich, som òg før 1965 var ein del av London.


Bydelane som blir rekna med er: Barking and Dagenham, Barnet, Bexley, Brent, Bromley, Croydon, Ealing, Enfield, Haringey, Harrow, Havering, Hillingdon, Hounslow, Kingston upon Thames, Merton, Newham, Redbridge, Richmond upon Thames, Sutton og Waltham Forest



Ytre London til statistikkbruk


I enkelte samanhenger, spesielt i samband med folketalstatistikk, blir ein annan definisjon på ytre London brukt. Ein ekskluderer då Newham og Haringey, men inkluderer Greenwich. Årsaka til dette er at det gjer det lettare å samanlikna tal frå før og etter omstruktureringa i 1965.
