Byrd Polar Research Center


Byrd Polar Research Center, stundom forkorta BPRC, er eit polar- og alpint forskingssenter ved Ohio State University.


Byrd-senteret vart oppretta i 1960 som Institute for Polar Studies. Namnet vart endra i 1987. Forskingsfokuset var opphavleg geologi, glasiologi og biologi. I dag fokuserer BPRC på mellom anna paleoklimatologi, fjernmåling, polar meteorologi, isbredynamikk og geokjemi.
