Legat


Eit legat er ei pengegåve som blir gitt til personar som oppfyller bestemte kriterium. Det finst legat for fleire ulike formål, som stipend for ungdom under utdanning eller støtte til livsopphald for eineforsørgjarar eller vanskelegstilte. Det finst òg mange legat for kunstnarar og musikarar.


Eit legat kan bli oppretta dersom ein person testamenterer ein sum med pengar til eit bestemt føremål. Det blir så oppretta eit styre som får i oppgåve å forvalte desse pengane og fordele midla etter gitte kriterium. Pengane blir gjerne investert i fond eller aksjar med låg risiko, og det er avkastinga som blir fordelt mellom verdige søkjarar.
