Ein dataterminal er ein elektronisk eller elektromekanisk maskinvare som vert brukt til å mate inn og presentere data til og frå ein stormaskin eller eit databehandlingssystem. Terminalar vart mykje brukt i 70- og 80-åra som erstatning for dei gamle holkortmaskinane.



Ordet terminal blir òg brukt om ein terminalemulator, dvs. eit program som lar deg tasta inn kommandoar til maskinen.
