Hamarøy er ein kommune (Hábmera suohkan)[1] i Nordland fylke. Frå 1. januar 2020 er den gamle Hamarøy kommune og den sørvestre delen av gamle Tysfjord kommune slått saman til éin kommune under namnet Hamarøy kommune.[2]



Geografi |


Gasskačohkka, ein 1517 meter over havet høg fjelltopp på grensa mot Sørfold kommune, er det høgste fjellet i Hamarøy kommune. Fjelltoppen ligg søraust i kommunen, ei tre mil unna næraste busetjing i Hamarøy.
