Nordaust-Svalbard naturreservat


Nordaust-Svalbard naturreservat er eit naturreservat oppretta ved forskrift av 1. juni 1973 i medhald av Svalbardlova. Nordaust-Svalbard naturreservat omfattar Kvitøya, Kong Karls Land og Nordaustlandet med omliggande øyar og territorialfarvatn, samt landet på vestsida av Hinlopenstredet nordaust på Svalbard.


Formålet med fredningen er å ta vare på eit stort og nær urørt naturområde på land og i sjøen som mellom anna er leveområde for fugl, sjøpattedyr og isbjørn, som har eit storslege landskap og som har kulturminne frå kvalfanbgsttida.


Sysselmannen kan regulere all ferdsel på land og i sjøen i naturreservatet. Alle naturinngrep er forbode ved forskrift.
