Agglutinerande språk


Agglutinerande språk er språk som har ein morfologisk struktur prega av at grammatiske kategoriar blir uttrykt gjennom affiks — prefiks eller suffiks. I agglutinerande språk blir desse affiksa sett etter kvarandre slik at dei påverkar kvar andre i relativt liten grad, affiksa blir «limt på» kvarandre.


Agglutinerande språk har også andre felles trekk. Viss det er postposisjonar har språket kjernefinal leddstilling (SOV og postposisjonar).


Kjende døme på agglutinerande språk er grønlandsk (suffiks) og swahili (prefiks).



Syntetiske språk som ikkje er agglutinerande kallast flekterande eller fusjonerande språk. Det er ikkje eit skarpt skilje mellom agglutinerande og flekterande språk, men glidande overgangar. Til dømes har norsk preg av begge system, idet vi både har svake verb med ein tempusending tilføyd den uforandra rota, og sterke verb med indre bøying.
