Evenes kommune (nordsamisk: Ránda suohkan eller Evenášši suohkan) er ein kommune i Ofoten i Nordland fylke. Kommunen grenser mot Skånland i Troms i nord, og mot dei andre nordlandskommunane Tjeldsund i vest og Narvik i aust. Kommunesenteret heiter Bogen.


Kommunevåpenet, som blei godkjend i 1990, viser eit hjul i sølv mot raud bakgrunn. Dette viser til Evenes som kommunikasjonssenter.[1]

Næringsliv og transport |


Industrien i kommunen er «beskjeden», ifølgje Store Norske Leksikon.[1]
Han ligg først og fremst i Bogen, med metallvareindustri som den viktigste bransjen. Servicenæringane har fått eit oppsving etter at lufthamna i byen opna i 1973, og då Forsvaret etablerte ein militær flystasjon her. I 2014 omfatta transportsektoren 24 prosent av arbeidsplassane i kommunen, og Evenes hadde den klart største delen i denne næringen blant kommunane i Nordland.[1]


Flyplassen Harstad/Narvik lufthamn, Evenes ligg i kommunen.
Evenes flystasjon er ein militærbase.
