Tobol (kasakhisk Тобыл, Tobyl; russisk Тобол, Tobol) er ei elv i Kasakhstan og Kurgan og Tjumen oblast i Russland. Ho renn frå Uralfjella og munnar ut i Irtysj som ei av sideelvane frå venstre. Tobol er 1 591 km lang og har eit nedslagsfelt på 426 000 km². Dei nedre delane av elva frys til seint i oktober eller november og tinar opp att i april eller tidleg i mai. Tobol er farbar frå elvemunningen og 437 km oppover.

Historie |


Tobol var ein av fire viktige elvar i Det sibirske khanatet. I 1428 vart khanen drepe i eit slag mot styrkane til Abu'l-Khayr Khan.[1]
