Johan Julius Christian Sibelius (8. desember 1865–20. september 1957) var ein finsk komponist av klassisk musikk. Saman med arbeidet til Johan Ludvig Runeberg og Veikko Antero Koskenniemi er Sibelius' musikk synonymt med den finske nasjonalidentiteten.


Johan Sibelius voks opp i ein finlandssvensk familie i Tavastehus i Finland, som då var eit russisk storhertugdøme. Familien bestemte seg for å sende Jean til ein finskspråkleg skule. Dette meiner ein var eit uttrykk for den finske nasjonalismen, som skulle bli viktig for Sibelius' kunstnariske produksjon.


Komposisjonane han er mest kjend for er Finlandia, Valse Triste, fiolinkonserten, Kareliasuiten, Tuonela-svana, fleire verk som var inspirert av Kalevala og sju nummererte symfoniar.
