Tidleg 68000-prosessor frå 1979


Motorola 68000 er ein 16-bits CISC-prosessor som vart produsert hjå Motorola i NMOS-teknologi frå 1979 til 2000. Nemninga 68000 kjem av at den integrerte krinsen var sett i hop av om lag 68.000 transistorar. Motorola 68000 har vorte nytta både i tidlege utgåver av Apple Macintosh, i Commodore Amiga og i Atari ST. Han vart ogso teken i bruk i spelkonsollmaskinen Sega Megadrive og i TI-89-kalkulatoren frå Texas Instruments.


Mikrokontrolleren ColdFire, som i dag vert produsert av Freescale Semiconductor, er Assembler-kompatibel med den gamle 68000-arkitekturen.
